Bankroll Wizard Help & FAQ

Find answers to common questions below, or reach out directly.

Getting Started

How do I record my first hand?

Start a session by tapping "New Session" and entering your stakes and buy-in. Then tap "New Hand" to begin recording. Select your position (BTN, CO, HJ, etc.), enter your hole cards, and tap through each street's action. The app guides you through the natural flow of a poker hand.

Do I need to create an account?

No. You can start recording hands immediately without an account. All data is stored locally on your phone. If you want cloud sync or the web dashboard, you can sign in with Google or Apple later.

How many sessions can I track for free?

The free tier includes unlimited hand recording with basic analytics and hand history review. Upgrade to Pro ($2.99/mo) for the full analytics suite, opponent profiling, CSV export, and cloud sync.

Does the app work without internet?

Yes. Bankroll Wizard is designed offline-first. All features work without internet — hand recording, analytics, hand history review, everything. You only need a connection for initial account setup and cloud sync.

Hand Recording

Can I really record a hand in 30 seconds?

Yes. The interface is optimized for speed: position-aware action ordering means you don't select who acts next, quick bet presets handle common sizes, and the street-by-street flow matches how poker is actually played. Most users get under 30 seconds after their first few hands.

What if the app crashes during a hand?

Your hand is auto-saved on every action. If the app crashes, gets a phone call, or you switch apps, your hand-in-progress is preserved. When you reopen the app, you pick up right where you left off.

How does the app handle all-in situations?

All-in is fully automated. When a player goes all-in, the app calculates side pots, restricts actions for covered players, and handles multi-way all-in scenarios correctly. You just tap "All-In" and the math is done.

Can I edit a hand after recording it?

Currently, hands are recorded as-is. We recommend reviewing hands in the hand history screen where you can see the full replay with equity percentages.

What table sizes are supported?

Bankroll Wizard supports tables from 2 to 10 players. Position labels automatically adjust based on table size (e.g., a 6-max table uses BTN, SB, BB, UTG, HJ, CO).

Analytics

What stats does Bankroll Wizard track?

The full analytics suite includes: VPIP (voluntarily put money in pot), PFR (preflop raise), 3-Bet%, Aggression Factor (per street), WTSD (went to showdown), W$SD (won money at showdown), BB/100 win rate, ROI, and position-specific breakdowns for all metrics.

How many hands do I need for accurate stats?

Basic stats like VPIP and PFR become meaningful after about 50 hands. For position-specific analysis and opponent profiling, 100+ hands provides more reliable data. The app enforces minimum sample sizes so you don't make decisions on insufficient data.

What is the equity display?

The equity display shows your exact win probability percentage on every street of a recorded hand. It uses exact enumeration (not Monte Carlo estimates) to calculate how likely you were to win given the known cards. Color-coded badges make it easy to see where you were ahead or behind.

Can I export my data?

Pro subscribers can export session data as CSV files compatible with Excel and Google Sheets. This lets you do custom analysis outside the app.

Subscriptions

What's included in the free trial?

The Pro plan includes a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. You won't be charged until the trial period ends. Cancel anytime during the trial and you won't be billed.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Go to your device's subscription settings to cancel. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your data is never deleted when you cancel. All recorded hands and sessions remain on your device. You'll lose access to premium features, but your data stays intact. If you re-subscribe later, everything is still there.

Can I switch between monthly and annual Pro?

Yes. You can switch plans at any time through your device's subscription settings. Changes take effect at your next billing cycle.

Data & Privacy

Where is my data stored?

All data is stored locally on your device. If you enable cloud sync (Pro feature), your data is also securely synced to the cloud. Local data remains on your device even without cloud sync.

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes. You can delete your account from the Settings screen in the app. This removes all cloud data, local data, preferences, and your account. You can also request deletion via our Privacy Policy page.

Does the app track my location?

No. Bankroll Wizard does not request or use location permissions. Session location tagging is manual and optional.

Is this a gambling app?

No. Bankroll Wizard is a poker tracking and analytics utility. It does not facilitate real-money wagering, process bets, connect to poker sites, or interact with any gambling service. It is a note-taking and analysis tool for live poker players.
